28 YEARS EXPERIENCE - 3,000+ HAPPY CUSTOMERS
"We have recently had a new borehole drilled and filtration installed by Rory. We are delighted with the new high yielding bore that will replace an old and unreliable spring store well supply. We can highly recommend Rory for his knowledge, expertise, attention to detail and willingness to problem solve to find the best solution, all of which ensure a high quality of service and a happy customer!"
Susi Robertson. New borehole supply. November 2021
"Many thanks for all your hard work and a job well done , Rory. We are revelling in a constant supply of crystal clear water! "
Ailsa and Roger Bradley. New Borehole supply. October 2021
"We would highly recommend Rory and his team. We had arsenic in our private water supply and with two small children we did not want to take any chances so opted for a borehole to provide a new supply to the house. It was clear that Rory was very knowledgeable in his field and by using water diving methods he provided us with a solution that would address the issue. His estimates were clear and itemised. The workmanship was neat and tidy. He also did his best to minimise disruption to the house. We now have drinkable water from a safe and clean source and he even improved the water pressure to the house! "

We offer an independent consultancy service with the aim of providing you with crystal clear water by designing and fully installing either a new system, or to improve an existing supply. Water can be sourced using a number of techniques depending on the location of the site.
Spring Store Wells – we find and create water storage from a natural spring.
Dams – Purpose built to our own life long design.
An important part of the system we provide for you is the filtration.
To ensure that this works, the testing we do is vital. Testing is the analysis of the source water to evaluate water quality to fully comply with regulations for safe drinking water.
All water tests are completed through our Scottish Water contract.
The Waterman Scotland Ltd will provide a comprehensive filtration system to you that will remove elements and bacteria from your water.
To secure grant funding, water testing and certification must be maintained. We will be happy to provide you with an ongoing service management facility.
Please contact us to discuss your requirements.

SPRING WATER STORAGE
SPRING STORE WELL UNDER CONSTRUCTION
Before we drill a borehole we will always see if we can get a spring store well. We have very successful ways of doing this that are tried and tested across Scotland. It is cheaper by far than a new bore, given the lower cost and the high failure cost of a bore.
Often with a spring store well a pump may or may not be required, but it will still require filtration. It is important to know the demand that is going to be placed on the spring store well, as they are not generally suitable for high demand users.
Shallow spring store wells are usually formed around 2.5 metres deep into the bedrock. The well is formed with a gravel base, concrete rings or brickwork to form the well as illustrated.
A submersible pump can also be used in conjunction with the spring store well or depending on location of the spring store well, gravity-fed system.
BOREHOLE DRILLING
A borehole is a common and usually successful way of getting a private water supply in Scotland.
With our 28 years of experience, the Waterman Scotland Ltd will locate the bore position and complete the whole project from start to finish.
As standard we will always fit an ultra violet light as current water regulations are high.
All borehole construction methods are consistent with the Scottish Environment Protection Agency’s Guide for Good Practice.
Most boreholes require pumps and we will select the right unit and arrange for the electrical work to be done by our specialist electrical contractor.
The controls we fit regulate the flow, as well as reducing the power requirement giving touch control and visual display as standard.
They are also extremely reliable.
